With views over Loch Earn looking towards St Fillans, and the surrounding mountains, this holiday accommodation provides a very compact hideaway for two. Arranged in an upside down style with the double bedroom, en-suite shower room and small galley kitchen on the ground floor, and the lounge/diner on the first floor.
Guests are welcome to sit in the garden where you can relax and admire the view from the seating provided.
The accommodation is an annexe to the main house ‘Orchard Lodge’. Wee Orchard Lodge has its own separate entrance and access path. Parking is in front of the property.
Situated on the outskirts of Lochearnhead Village, where you will find a village shop within walking distance. There are two pubs/ restaurants in the village for you to enjoy the local atmosphere.
Whether you enjoy a strenuous hill walk or a quiet evening stroll you’ll find plenty of variety nearby. There are numerous Munros and Corbetts within 30 minute’s drive including our two local Munros of Ben Vorlich and Stuc a’ Chroin. Easier walks can be enjoyed from the lodge and throughout the National Park.
Picturesque courses such as St. Fillans, Comrie, Killin, Crieff and Callander are within 30 minutes drive. Gleneagles is easily reached within the hour. The Perthshire Green Card offers discounted green fees on 19 of the county’s courses.
National Cycle Route 7 passes through Lochearnhead giving traffic free cycling on the former railway track between Callander and Killin. Access to the Sustrans cycle route is close by. Scenic local rides can also be enjoyed on the quiet roads along Balquhidder Glen and the southern shores of Loch Earn and Loch Tay.
Water Sports are popular on Loch Earn. Boat launch can be arranged given prior notice.
Trout can be fished on Loch Earn, either by boat or from the bank. Permits and bait are available locally. A little further afield you’ll find more than enough lochs and rivers to keep you fishing.
Red squirrels and a wide variety of birdlife may be attracted to the garden. Birds of prey can be found throughout the National Park. If you are lucky you will spot the Osprey fishing on Loch Earn.
Why not have a winter break and use the cottage as a base for skiing? Roads are quieter at this time of year making for quicker access to the nearer resorts, Glencoe (40 miles), Nevis Range (68 miles) and Glenshee (76 miles).
