As you travel fom the A84 junction at the Kings House hotel to Inverlochlarig the area boasts magnificent scenery, you will pass the McGregor Murray Mausoleum before arriving at the village of Balquhidder where the local kirk is the resting place of Rob Roy McGregor who died in 1734. He lies with his wife and two of their sons beside him. The Village Hall sits opposite the Library Tea Room where you will see the start of the Lochs. Travelling west of the village along the North shore of Loch Voil you will see Rhuveag with Loch Doine beyond.
The Rob Roy Way (78 miles/126km) is a new long distance walking route through the southern Highlands, which links the Trossachs area with Breadlabane and Atholl in Highland Perthshire. Cycle hire is available in Strathyre.
Excellent trout and salmon fishing can be found locally.
Deer stalking can be arranged.
Lochearnhead Watersports Centre is located on the junction of the A84 and A85 on the west end of Lochearn.
Golf courses can be found in the villages of St Fillans (9) and Killin (9) and also in Callander (18). With many more courses further away.
The city of Stirling has much to offer the visitor, The Wallace Monument, Stirling Castle and Jail are just a few visitor attractions in the area.
