Walking

The Rob Roy Way is close by.

There are numerous walking trails; Maps can be bought at the local Tourist information centres.

One local walk ‘Creag an Tuirc' is situated behind Balquhidder Kirk. Start at the waterfall and follow the path to reach the summit which offers a spectacular view of Loch Voil and Doine. On the summit sits a cairn in the memory of the Clan McLaren.

For more challenging walks there are a number of Munros close by including Ben Vorlich,, Ben Lawers, Ben Ledi. Ben More. Ordanance survey maps can be purchased at Lochearnhead Post Office.

Go Ape  is an award-winning high wire forest adventure course of rope bridges, Tarzan Swings and zip slides up to 40 feet up in the trees. Appealing to a wide age range, customers are fitted with a climbing harness, given instructions, and then trek from tree to tree high above the forest floor (over 10's only).  The only Scottish location is in Aberfoyle. Argarty Red Kites Project

Red Kites are back in Scotland after an absence of nearly 130 years. Visit this working farm, and for a very modest fee be taken on a Ranger led walk to see the acrobatic and colourful birds.
