The traditional has evolved over the years and the festival now runs a whole range of activities from competitions to outings, from dances to the parade ensure that there is something to suit everybody.
The final day of the Fortnight consists of a float parade through the village to the Laggan Park where an afternoon of fun events takes place.
The Summary of Events for the Fortnight 2014 has been printed in a Comrie Fortnight guide, which is on sale locally.
The festival starts on Saturday 26th July with the opening ceremony at the riverside starting at 1.30pm. The Street Market is at 1.45 p.m. followed by the Comrie Kidds Strings at 2.00 p.m. The Comrie Playgroup Duck Race is at 3.30pm and the evening entertainment starts at 6.30 with the Comrie Pipes and Drums followed by The Boulevard Beer Fest at 7.15 p.m.
Daily programmes of events have been organised for each day over the fortnight including a pet show, children’s treasure hunt, day trips and five-a-side competitions to mention only a few.
The Red Hot Chilli Pipers will be playing in the Laggan Park on Saturday 2nd August with doors opening at 8.00pm.
The Festival culminates with a Marquee Dance at 9.30 p.m. on Saturday 9th August.
