Scotland’s premier sheep shearing contest resulting in the coveted Blackface sheep shearing trophy will take place this year on Saturday 27 June 2015, from 7.30am at the The Games Field, Lochearnhead on the A85. The event culminates in a ceilidh in the marquee. There is an entrance fee on the day.
Sheep shearers from all over the World compete to take home the Scottish Blackface Shearing Champion title. Blackface sheep are predominant in this area and require extra skills from the competitors to overcome their flighty nature and the coarser wool of this mountain breed.
Situated in central Scotland at the West end of Lochearn, it is an idyllic location for our event, surrounded by hills and the near by Ben Vorlich, at the start of the Highland mountainous range, where Highland hospitality is as much breathtaking as the views.

If you are staying in the area on 27th June in one of our self-catering holiday cottages why not go along to Lochearnhead to witness a great competition.
