There will be cookery demonstrations over the weekend from people like James Morton, a previous contender in the Great British Bake Off and who won the ‘Cookery Book of The Year’ this year. Ian McCulloch and his team from Independent Training Consultants will talk you through, and demonstrate some home cooking secrets. From the basics of sharp knives through to getting a sauce just right, these guys will be running various free demos through the weekend.
The Walking Theatre Company will be on hand over the weekend to entertain you with live theatrical performances on how we used to live. Returning to the times of rationing and WWII the team will interact with the audience and show budgets were stretched and ingredient eked out make sure that everyone got fed when times were hard. Great fun for all the family.
Other attractions to be seen over the weekend includes a Haggis eating competition when 8 chosen people will take the challenge on each day of the Festival, 1lb of Haggis.
There will be events for the children including Loch Lomond Birds of Prey and the Animal Man mini-zoo focussed on giving the visiting children lots of fun.
Live music will be provided by the O’Cajunals from 2pm through until 5pm on both days and the renowned Glasgow Accordion Band will be along on Sunday morning to kick start the day. There will also be some beautiful classical music and a ukulele band playing over the weekend!
Then of course there will be a vast array of food and drink from many local suppliers to be found at the festival. – the list is too long to include here!
As a brand new feature of the Festival we invite you to join in with launching Lochtoberfest the Real Ale Festival on the Loch to sample some amazing Scottish ale which will all be cask pumped.
The Ale Festival will run over both days from 10am till 6pm, but on the Saturday evening it won’t stop there – it will just keep brewing into something even more exciting. With live music from No Mercy Las Vegas, special guest ales appearances and your chance to buy into a proper live tasting session.
