The special young musicians of this year’s Ceilidh Trail will again visit Callander, and anyone interested in learning or improving their traditional music skills can join a week of workshops.
If dancing is your thing, then come and dance to the Riverside Ceilidh Band. There will also be a Country Dancing workshop earlier. Creative writers and keen readers can be inspired by hearing from a published ghost writer, translator and novelist.
Outdoors there will be walking, rambling, cycling, nature workshops, sculpting, even big knitting! Ancaster Square will have a vintage market, and some animal antics are planned to steal the show. Young people will have their own Mini Olympics, and for quieter times, the library is holding story sessions and at Callander Hostel, a junior Bake –off.
That’s not all there will also be films, an all-day art class, quilting, wine and gin tasting sessions, a family fun day and more are also in the schedule, with some events actually happening earlier, like the Scottish Chamber Orchestra in June, and later, like Aly McBain and Phil Cunningham in August.
Copies of the full programme should be out by late May and full details will be available on the Callander Summerfest Facebook page.
If you are staying with us over the Summerfest period in one of our self-catering holiday cottage why not consider going along to experience some of these family events which are sure to add some special memories to your holiday.
